This St David’s Day weekend, take on a walk that means something to you - and support the Armed Forces community across Wales.

The SSAFA Wales Two-Point Challenge is a Wales-wide, do-it-anywhere sponsored walk. The idea is simple: pick any two points in Wales and walk between them. This marks SSAFA’s first Wales-wide regional event, bringing communities together across the whole of Wales in a shared moment of connection and awareness.

Taking place on Sunday 1 March 2026, with flexibility to walk at any point across the St David’s Day weekend, the Two-Point Challenge is designed to be inclusive and accessible. It brings together serving personnel, reservists, veterans, families, volunteers, supporters, schools, community groups and corporate teams, all walking in solidarity with the Armed Forces family.

Your route could be castle to castle, coast to coast, mountain to mountain, waterfall to waterfall, base to barracks or a meaningful journey of your own inspired by your local community. It can be a short local walk or a longer personal challenge, every route helps raise awareness and funds for SSAFA’s work supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families in Wales.

Participants can walk independently, with friends and family, or as part of a local branch.  The SSAFA Wales team will provide downloadable resources, route inspiration and simple fundraising tools and a SSAFA t-shirt to help everyone take part in their own way.

However you choose to walk, this is a chance to celebrate Wales, mark St David’s Day, and show that no one in the Armed Forces community ever battles alone.

How to Take Part

Choose your two points

Pick any two locations in Wales and plan a route between them. Your points might be practical, symbolic, scenic or personal. There’s no set distance and no “right” way to do it.

Decide when and how you’ll walk

You can take part on Sunday 1 March 2026 or choose a time that suits you across the St David’s Day weekend (Friday–Sunday). Walk solo, with friends or family, as part of a branch, group, school, club or workplace team.

Sign up and fundraise

Once registered, you’ll receive access to downloadable event packs and fundraising guidance. Participants are encouraged to fundraise in whatever way works best for them.

Get your resources

We’ll provide route inspiration, fundraising templates and practical tips to help you plan your walk and spread the word locally.

Walk, share and celebrate

Complete your walk, take photos along the way, and share your experience to help raise awareness of SSAFA’s work across Wales and the Armed Forces community.

Whether you’re walking a few kilometres or taking on a bigger challenge, every step helps support SSAFA Wales.
