SSAFA’S TEXT TO DONATE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

What happens when you donate via mobile to SSAFA using a keyword and short code?

Text 'SSAFA £3' or 'SSAFA £5' or 'SSAFA £10' to '70755' to make a single donation from your mobile.

When you donate via SMS to SSAFA, please note that in addition to the donation, you will incur your standard network message charge, based on your service provider rates.

On making your donaton, you will receive a free text message from us confiming your request to donate using your mobile.

We would like to keep in touch with you and let you know how you are helping to support our Armed Forces, veterans and their families. If you would prefer not to hear from us, please text 'NOSMS SSAFA' to '78866' or call us on 020 7463 9225 or email to supporter@ssafa.org.uk.

Text 'THANKS' to '70020' to give a £3 per month directly from your mobile.

This is a monthly charity donation service where you receive a free text message the day before your gift is due. If you are happy to give, you don't need to do anything and your £3 donation will come off your mobile phone bill for that month or your pay-as-you-go credit.

If you would prefer not to give that month, text 'SKIP' to '70020' within 24 hours of receiving the text. We’ll send you a text back to confirm that we won’t take your £3 payment that month.

We hope that you won't cancel your gift and that you will use the SKIP system if you decide not to give in a particular month. You can, however, stop your subscription at any time by texting 'STOP' to '70020'. We’ll send you a confirmation text to let you know it’s been done.

See general terms and conditions relating to all text to donate campaigns below.

Donations made via text are eligible for Gift Aid.

If you are a UK taxpayer, we can reclaim the tax you have paid on your donation from HM Revenue and Customs, increasing the value of your gift by 25 percent! For instance, if you donate £3 we will receive an additional 75p. To gift aid your donation, please complete the Gift Aid form online or call us on 020 7463 9225 or email supporter@ssafa.org.uk If you are donating via text to donate, please include your mobile number on the online form.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS RELATING TO SSAFA'S TEXT TO DONATE

When you donate via SMS to SSAFA, please note that in addition to the donation, you will incur your standard network message charge, based on your service provider rates.

If you are making a single donation, SSAFA will receive 98 percent of each gift; for regular donations, SSAFA will receive 95 per cent of each gift.

Please ensure you spell the keyword carefully and send your text message to the correct short code or your gift may not be received.

If your keyword and short code are valid, you will be charged the donation amount when you receive the bounce-back message – this cost will be applied directly to your mobile phone bill. It may take some time for you to receive a bounce-back message. Please wait until you receive it. Any repeat texts will result in repeat donations.

If your keyword or short code are invalid, you may not receive a bounce-back but may still be charged your standard network message charge. You will not be charged the donation as you will not be donating to SSAFA.

There is no limit on the number of times you may make a donation via text but there is a daily limit of £30 on text donations. You will not be able to donate more by text from the same number on the same day, but you may still incur your standard network message charge if you try.

All supporters must obtain permission from the bill payer before sending a text message. If you are under 16 years old, you must have your parent's or guardian's permission to send a text donation to us.

Please note that you can donate from a UK mobile only. You cannot donate using this service from a Channel Islands, Isle of Man or other non-UK mobile. If you donate using this service from a UK mobile outside England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, you may incur additional network charges.

If you would like to contribute additional gifts to SSAFA, you can donate online.

All donations to SSAFA, including the donation from the text, are non-refundable.

This SMS service is being provided for SSAFA by Cymba Integrated Solutions of 36 Gloucester Avenue, London NW1 7BB.

SSAFA and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any text being lost or not properly received.

UPDATING YOUR COMMUNICATION PREFERENCES

Our charity text donation service enables you to donate and receive information about how you are helping to support our Armed Forces, veterans and their families.

We value your support and understand that you may wish to update your contact preferences. We will occasionally send you information about how you are helping to change lives via text message. You might also receive videos and other useful content that you can view on an internet-enabled phone or on your computer. We won’t charge you for this content, but, as with any mobile browsing, viewing it might mean you incur charges from your network provider. We may call you on your mobile with news about how your support is helping those in need.

If you'd rather we didn't telephone you on your mobile, you can text 'NOCALL SSAFA' to '78866' or contact us on 020 7463 9225 or by email to supporter@ssafa.org.uk

To opt out of receiving SMS messages from us in the future, please text 'NOSMS SSAFA' to '78866' or telephone us 020 7463 9225 or email to supporter@ssafa.org.uk.

SSAFA is committed to delivering the highest standard of service to our supporters and to everyone who engages with our work. Should our service not meet your expectations, please let us know. Read our Fundraising Promise and complaints procedure.
