We help veterans and service personnel, and their families, in the local community and we rely on public donations to continue our work. Our commitment is to provide support with experienced, non-judgemental and friendly advice, as well as a variety of practical services which cover a range of social, family and financial issues.

  • Coast to Coast Cycle

    Ben and Matthew Moody successfully completed a 312 mile cycle, from Coast to Coast in aid of SSAFA. These two brothers took on the challenge in honour of Ben's little boy, Toby who sadly passed away. SSAFA were there to offer support to Ben and his family.

  • Cymru Mini Adventure

    Mark and his dog are taking on a mammoth hike around wales in aid of SSAFA. The route entails the following: Phase 1 - Glyndwr’s Way 135 mile test hike 21-28 Jul 17, Phase 2 – Wales Coast Path 870 mile hike 18 Aug-08 Oct 17, Phase 3 – Offas Dyke Path 177 mile hike 09-19 Oct 17 .

Community Volunteer

SSAFA Richmondshire and Catterick Garrison is looking for community volunteers.
As a community volunteer you will be providing practical support to local service personnel and their families within the garrison.
You will visit isolated and lonely families when a spouse is deployed.
Supporting the bereaved and helping estranged families.
Befriending those who need someone to listen.
Giving advice and assisting our local forces families.
