Navy charities renew support to SSAFA

18 December 2019

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity are delighted to announce that The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) and Greenwich Hospital have awarded £360,000 in three grants to support SSAFA’s Casework, Forcesline and Norton House services over the next three years.

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and Greenwich Hospital have awarded a £20,000 grant per year for SSAFA’s Forcesline and Norton House service, as well as a £80,000 grant per year towards SSAFA’s casework.

The charities will be providing £120,000 to SSAFA each year over the next three years, totalling £360,000 for the Armed Forces charity.

Last year, SSAFA’s casework service supported 35,819 cases, with 3,961 naval beneficiaries receiving support throughout 2018. This new funding ensures that members of the Navy and Marine family will be supported in their time of need.

We are delighted to have received an exceptionally generous contribution from The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity to support our various charitable activities. We are incredibly humbled and proud of our joint commitment to the Royal Navy and Royal Marines community.

The grants will go towards supporting our Casework, Forcesline and Norton House services that will continue to support those in need within the Naval Service, its veterans and their families.

- Sir Andrew Gregory, Chief Executive, SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity

We consider SSAFA to be one of our most important service delivery partners and the new three-year funding approach reflects this. We look forward to continuing this partnership as we work with SSAFA to develop services that meet the need of our joint beneficiaries.
