Sam Boatwright, 36, a maths teacher from Selsden has been named a regional winner for ‘North Yorkshire’ in the Pride of Britain Awards ‘Fundraiser of the Year’ category.
This summer, Sam fundraised for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity in an ‘Epic Triathlon’, attempting to swim across the English Channel before cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats and then running back to Skipton, clocking up 1,518.5 miles, burning 200,000 calories, and climbing the equivalent of two Everests!
I run because there’s people out there who can’t. It's great to be a finalist in the Pride of Britain Awards. It makes you feel like everything you've been working towards and everything you do is being recognised.

This year’s Pride of Britain Awards final ceremony is taking place at Grosvenor House in London on 28 October 2019, and will be screened on ITV in November.
