Merry Christmas!

24 December 2020

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!

2020 has been a very different year from the norm, but thanks to the dedication of our supporters and volunteers SSAFA has continued to provide some incredible support and care to the Armed Forces community.

The SSAFA central office will be closed over the Christmas period, from 24 December, and will not reopen until Monday 4 January 2021.

Forcesline - our free and confidential helpline - will also be closed during this period. Our voicemail will signpost callers to the Veterans Gateway (0808 802 1212) which are open 24/7 and provide support to veterans and their families. Our voicemail also signposts callers to Samaritans (116 123) for anyone needing emotional support.

Anyone can leave a voicemail or contact Forcesline online but are advised that the team will not respond until Monday 4 January.

I continue to be very honoured to be a part of SSAFA and to deliver our life changing services alongside a really great team of people – employees and volunteers. We do a huge amount of good and have achieved a great deal, something we should be extremely proud of. Of course, there are challenges to overcome going forward, but we start from a very strong base that will allow us to continue to assist serving personnel, veterans and their families exactly as our founder, Sir James Gildea, would expect us to do. In wishing you and your families a very Happy Christmas, I thank you so much for your commitment to SSAFA.

- Sir Andrew Gregory, Controller, SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity

We hope you all have a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year, regardless of the current restrictions.  Best wishes from all of us at SSAFA!

Please feel free to call our Forcesline if you need any support.
