Army Central Fund Supports SSAFA’s Norton House

The Army Central Fund has committed three years of financial support for Norton House, a SSAFA-run home from home for families supporting their loved ones through medical treatment. This long-term grant, until 2021, represents continued close links between the two charities and their combined support to the serving Army community.

Norton House, Stanford Hall offers a welcoming, non-clinical place to stay for families supporting injured military relatives at the recently-built Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC), which opened last year.

The Army Central Fund is delighted to continue supporting SSAFA and its work with the serving Army community. We are pleased to announce a grant of £65,000 a year for the next three years towards the running costs of Norton House, Stanford Hall, a project we have supported from the start. Norton House provides brilliant facilities for injured personnel and their families and we are proud to be associated with it.

We are proud to be providing a welcoming environment for families needing a space to relax and enjoy time together. Supporting a loved one through medical treatment can put a logistical strain on the rest of the family, which is where SSAFA’s Norton House can take away this worry.

Ensuring that military personnel, veterans and their families are given the help that they deserve as they undergo the challenging rehabilitation process is a key part of SSAFA’s remit. We thank the Army Central Fund for their generosity with this grant.
