MAJOR GENERAL SUSAN RIDGE

Major General Susan Ridge joined the Army in 1992, and was the only female in her battalion.

Major General Susan RidgeFor 23 years, Susan has worked as a Solicitor in the Army Legal Service, which provides legal support to barracks on training and on operations.

Susan was appointed as the British Army’s first Major General in September 2015. She became the Army’s highest ranking female officer when she took on the role as Director of General Army Legal Service.

Susan lives with her husband, who is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, and their teenage son.
