SSAFA VOLUNTEERS RECOGNISED IN QUEEN'S 2017 BIRTHDAY HONOURS LIST

SSAFA volunteers recognised in Queen's 2017 birthday honours list

SSAFA would like to congratulate those who have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for their work.


The following volunteers from the SSAFA family were included in the list:

Ray Griffiths, Branch Secretary for SSAFA Greater Birmingham, has been awarded a BEM for his immense dedication to SSAFA over the past 29 years.

Barbara Liddle Mortimer, receives a BEM for being a keen volunteer in the Tyne and Wear branch for more than 22 years and the driving force of Gateshead division since 1999.

David McAllister, Branch Chairman for SSAFA Lanarkshire, has been awarded an MBE for his tireless work and contribution to SSAFA over the past 25 years.

Robert Blomfield, Caseworker and Honorary Legal Advisor for SSAFA Northamptonshire, was awarded an MBE for his tireless total commitment to voluntary work in support of reservists, cadets, veterans, their families and the wider community.

The following Branch Presidents have also been honoured:

Lady Jennifer Gretton, Branch President of SSAFA Leicestershire, has been appointed Dame Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

Miss Anne Dunnett, Branch President of SSAFA Caithness, has been appointed Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

Mrs G L Osborne, Branch President of SSAFA Angus, has been appointed Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.
