SSAFA Scooter Ride for Homeless Ex-Forces

Volunteer Pete Stopforth is riding around the coast of England and Wales to raise awareness about homelessness in the veteran community.

SSAFA Scooter Ride for Homeless Ex-Forces

SSAFA volunteer Pete Stopforth is riding around the coast of England and Wales during April 2013 to increase awareness about homelessness amongst ex-Service personnel.

Pete, a father of three from Lowestoft, was homeless himself for three years when he left the Army after serving for 10 years as a dispatch rider. After he got back on his feet he became a volunteer casework for SSAFA to support other members of the Forces and their families going through difficult times.

During his scooter challenge Pete will be visiting local councils along the route to find out how they are helping the homeless.

Pete's scooter ride starts on 1 April from Ness Point in Lowestoft travelling anti-clockwise around the coast with stops including Newcastle, Cornwall and Hastings. Follow his progress on Facebook.
