SSAFA confirms new partnership with Indesit

SSAFA is working with leading white goods manufacturer Indesit to provide our Forces and their families with household appliances.

The necessities of a home such as fridges and cookers are often a need for SSAFA's clients. Some people are setting up a home for the first time after being homeless, for others the cost of replacing appliances is beyond their reach.

“Getting our homeless clients into a place of their own is vital but only part of the support we need to provide.” says Gary Sinclair, Head of Welfare. “Most affordable accommodation is let unfurnished so the cost of turning a property into a home can be high.

“For other clients suffering poverty the cost of replacing appliances is simply beyond their reach and without the ability to cook, they go without the basics such as hot food.”

“We need to ensure that anything we provide is good value for charitable money and gives our clients appliances that are safe, economical and reliable, supported by a responsive service organisation.”

Over the past few months, SSAFA teams in Hampshire, Kent, London Central and Cambridgeshire have been working with Indesit to trial the scheme. The success of the partnership in those areas means that it will now be extended to SSAFA teams all over the country.

Look out for more information on this worthwhile new partnership coming soon.
