A huge congratulations for raising their biggest ever fundraising total of £126,313.13 with every penny being donated directly to SSAFA. 50 cars and over a 100 people took on the challenge to drive 5 miles around Europe for every fallen serviceman since the start of the Afghan conflict, travelling through 8 countries in 10 days. The cars were waved off by England rugby player and former RAF pilot Rory Underwood on in Portsmouth on the 5th August.
The team went way beyond their target with one couple raising over £10,000 by themselves. Beforehand, the rally family had been fundraising at every motorshow, air day, village fete and supermarket across the UK in preparation. This is the second time the Rally for Heroes has supported SSAFA and all together they have raised £240,000! The Rally for Heroes family has become one of SSAFA’s biggest supporters, raising funds and spreading the word about how SSAFA helps the military community in their hour of need. On behalf of everyone at SSAFA we salute all those who have worked so hard so that we can help others.
