Fujitsu lead the way in supporting our Forces and their families

The Defence and National Security arm of Fujitsu UK & Ireland understands the sacrifices our British Forces personnel and their families make everyday to protect our country. In recognition of their bravery, the leading IT experts have undertaken various fundraising and sponsorship campaigns over the last year.

Fujitsu support our ForcesAs well as corporate sponsorship to help SSAFA deliver its event programme, we are particularly impressed with the employees, graduates and apprentices at Fujitsu who have given their time and personal contributions to help our work.

From volunteering to planting ceramic poppies at the Tower of London, supporting our social media campaigns such as the #MySalute, to taking part in our ‘TeamSSAFA’ fundraising events – the staff have really got behind our forces and their families.

Most notably, in September last year with sponsorship from Fujitsu, SSAFA arranged a ‘Ride of Britain’ cycle challenge - pedalling 500 miles in five days from Edinburgh to London. Fujitsu entered a team of nine enthusiastic employees who saddled up and tirelessly pushed through, raising over £15,000 towards our Forces.

IMore recently, we held our first of a series of Corporate Friends networking receptions at Fujitsu offices on Monday 9 February. The event, which saw over 60 business professionals and our guest speaker Mike Stone, Chief Information Officer of the MOD was the first of the 2015 calendar. Our chairman, General Sir Kevin O’Donoghue proudly received a cheque from Michael Keegan, Chief Executive Officer, Fujitsu UK and Ireland and Tim Gibson, VP, Head of Defence and National Security of £48,739.66 totalling the fantastic fundraising efforts of Fujitsu in 2014 – thank you Fujitsu!

We are now looking forward to welcoming back Fujitsu at the Ride of Britain 2015 and can’t wait to announce upcoming fundraising activities planned throughout the year.
You too can join in!
