Dundee FC and SSAFA have been working closely for a number of months and as part of the affiliation are delighted to reveal a very special 3rd kit which the team will wear against Kilmarnock on the 18th November.
All money raised during the partnership will go directly to SSAFA Dundee and Angus branch, including 10% of all jersey sales which are available to purchase from the Dundee Direct website. The club will also be raising money for SSAFA with a number of other activities – including a SSAFA bucket collection facilitated by the local cadets.
On the 18th, the weekend after Remembrance Sunday, the club are having an Armed Forces match day where they will wear the strip. There will also be military vehicles on show, military pipe bands, and free entry to all Forces Families – with discounted ticket prices continuing all season.
The money raised will really benefit the branch, which is hugely active. In 2016 Dundee and Angus’ 20 trained volunteer caseworkers offered practical, emotional and financial support to 158 cases resulting in £153,803 of funding for veterans and their families. The money raised from the collaboration will enable them to continue this valuable work.
The club said ‘We look forward to working alongside SSAFA this season and building a strong relationship to do all that we can for such a fantastic charity.’
