"So many of our brave men and women have made huge sacrifices in the service of our country, as have their families alongside them. I believe that every one of our soldiers, sailors and airmen is a hero and we all have a duty to care for them when they call on our help.
I have supported SSAFA for many years and found myself deeply moved by their dedicated work providing lifelong support for our service personnel, veterans and their families. SSAFA helps over 55,000 people every year. It is a cause that is close to my heart.
I remember SSAFA from the Second World War – they were there helping so many of our boys when they returned home. I still vividly recall those times. SSAFA has been supporting our Armed Forces and their families through two world wars as well as the more recent conflicts.
They provided emotional, practical and financial help to thousands of our heroes. I know SSAFA relies on gifts in Wills to fund their work. It would mean so much if you could think about including a gift in your Will to SSAFA. I will always remember just how much we owe the men and women who serve and have served our country. I hope you value their service as much as I do and will consider leaving a gift in your Will to help those who rely on our help in the future".
