Brave Fundraiser takes on the North Pole Marathon for SSAFA

SSAFA fundraiser Dwayne Dawson takes on ice cold challenge aiming to raise £20k for SSAFA

This Sunday, Dwayne Dawson will be undertaking a brave running feat that only 426 people have ever completed - running the North Pole Marathon. He leaves for the Arctic tonight travelling via Svalbard, preparing for the adventure. Luckily for Dwayne, the weather appears to be - relatively - quite warm with a predicted temperature of -20c for the race on Sunday.

The race is not only cold, but rsiky; runners must have armed guards standing over them to keep the Polar Bears away. SSAFA fundraiser Dwayne is also an active reservist as a Squadron Leader in the RAF Reserves based at Norholt in London and works for SSAFA corporate partner Fujitsu. His fundraising target is £20k which includes justgiving.com and his corporate sponsorship. Dwayne has funded the entireity of his trip out of his own resources so all of donations will go directly to SSAFA.
