Friday 6 July
Miss Emma Goodman hosted a fantastic Big Brew Up event, SSAFA's tastiest fundraising event, and a bingo night to raise money for SSAFA at the Hogarths in Preston. A massive thank you to all who attended and made the evening such a success, in particular the staff and patrons of Morrisons who continuously support SSAFA's work with the Armed Forces, and the men and women of 7 Tank Transporter Regiment who were reunited through the amazing efforts of Mr and Mrs Flannery of Hogarths Preston.
Saturday 7 July
Terry Smissen, Branch Fundraiser, presented a £150.00 cheque to the Hereford Veterans Support Group, contributing to their continued support of Veterans from all branches of service with free assistance, providing guidance in obtaining medical attention and housing, and weekly PTSD support group meetings. This money was raised by Terry when he transformed into Father Christmas last year at the Wyevale Garden Centre. He managed to raise a total of £300.00 with the other £150.00 going to SSAFA Hereford. The full presentation was held at the Wyevale on Friday 13 July. Thank you to Wyevale Kingsacre Road and generous patrons for your continued support of SSAFA Herefordshire and the Veterans Support Group.
Wednesday 11 July
The Courthouse Medispa has made a kind donation to SSAFA Herefordshire which will be auctioned off on Thursday 11 October to raise funds for SSAFA. Laura White, who also supported SSAFA during the Weeping Willow display at Hereford Cathedral, presented the generous donation to lead fundraiser, Angela Miller, demonstrating how important local communities are to the work SSAFA do all over the country.
