Armed Forces Minister enjoys a cuppa at Ministry of Defence Big Brew Up

Newly appointed Minister of State for the Armed Forces, the Rt Hon Mark Francois MP addressed SSAFA’s Big Brew Up at the Ministry of Defence Main Building on Whitehall yesterday. Ministry of Defence Personnel and visitors to the building attended the event to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake whilst raising funds for SSAFA. Other senior figures within the MoD who attended the event included the Secretary of State for Defence, the Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP.
Mark Francois was this week appointed Minister of State for the Armed Forces as a result of the Prime Minister’s reshuffle. His previous role was
Minister of State for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans. Following an introduction by SSAFA Chairman General Sir Kevin O’Donoghue, the Minister spoke of the importance of SSAFA’s work in the UK and Overseas that he has witnessed during his time as Veterans Minister.
The MoD in house caterers Amey provided the food and drink for the Big Brew Up for free and Sodexo Quality Life Services sponsor the national Big Brew Up initiative and were represented at the event.
