500 miles in 5 days – the Ride of Britain 2015
Starting in Edinburgh the Ride of Britain saw 30 riders mount their saddles, take to the tarmac and ride for five days finishing in London, all raising vital funds for SSAFA.

The Ride of Britain is not for the faint hearted as the gruelling ride covered a distance of approximately 500 miles! The team SSAFA riders took rest stops at military establishments along the way from Edinburgh, through Carlisle, Harrogate, Newark and Luton and reached London on Sunday, It promised to be an adventure filled with camaraderie, and personal achievement and it sure was.
With support from the Army Ride leaders the group departed the Palace of Holyrood house in Edinburgh in beautiful sunshine that was to follow them for most of the rest of ther journey. They rode hard through the hilly borders and down into England before reaching London after five tough days of riding. The team of riders made up of individuals, groups of serving personnel and a team from event sponsors Fujitsu covered an average of 100 miles per day before reaching The Mall where they reunited with proud friends and family.
Everyone who joined team SSAFA for the Ride of Britain helped us continue our vital work in providing life-long support to the Armed Forces, veterans and their families. This year’s ride is estimated to raise £45,000. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone: 020 7463 9297.
