Royal Homes Wimbledon

At the Royal Homes in Wimbledon, we provide independent living for those with a Forces connection.

The Royal Homes were originally created as Homes for Officers’ Widows and Daughters following an appeal by Colonel Gildea in 1899 and are still managed today by SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. Eligibility has changed recently and accommodation now is available to members and former members of all ranks of the Armed Forces and their families; including those currently serving, veterans and reservists.

Our residents are widows and widowers, former spouses and partners, veterans and single children of veterans in the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Marines. Residents must usually be able to look after themselves and their flats, with most resident aged 60 years old and over.

Visit the Royal Homes website for more information about accommodation.
