Lord Mayor of Exeter's Charity of the Year 2018/19

13 September 2019

Over £23,000 was raised in the past year during Rob Hannaford’s term of office as Lord Mayor of Exeter.
A great deal of thanks is due to to him and his tireless staff who co-ordinated various events in support of his chosen charity, SSAFA Devon.
The Lord Mayor gave an entertaining speech highlighting the reasons he adopted SSAFA and praised various individuals, pictured below, who gave freely of their time and resources which resulted in such a significant amount of money being raised.
SSAFA Chairman, Brigadier Andy Pillar OBE received the cheque and outlined the work that will now be funded by the cash that was raised. In particular, he read out part of Zoe Jones’ story to a very moved audience. You can read this remarkable woman’s testimony to SSAFA’s work in full in an earlier post on this site.
