80% uptake in SSAFA Cyprus Childhood Flu Campaign

SSAFA Cyprus had planned their Childhood Nasal Flu vaccination campaign for the end of November. However, it was decided to be brought forward, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

With a tight turnaround, the team re-planned within three days for the delivery of the flu vaccine to children from military families.  

There was an exceptional 83.5% uptake for the vaccination, surpassing Public Health England’s ambition of 75%.  

Clare Henderson, SSAFA Health Visitor and Immunisation Coordinator said: 

“The team worked incredibly hard to ensure that the campaign was delivered effectively, taking COVID restrictions and guidance into account and arranging venues, risk assessments and PPE, as well as advising the community of the changes and in the middle of a regiment change over.”
