WW1 stories from our volunteers and staff

This year commemorates the 100-year anniversary of the most significant moments in British history – the end of the First World War.

To mark the centenary, we are calling on the public to help keep the nation’s history alive by sharing your family stories and photos from the First World War. Our volunteers and staff have shared their stories from their ancestors; stories containing exceptional acts of bravery, Victoria Cross winners, those that saw action at infamous battles such as the Somme, prisoners of war and those that never came home.

Celebrities have also come together to share their stories and photographs in support of the SSAFA campaign, you can read them here.

Keep our history alive and read the stories below from our volunteers and staff.
