Lt Gen Sir Andrew Gregory KBE CB
Lt Gen Sir Andrew Gregory KBE CB retired from the British Army in April 2016 after thirty five years’ service, most recently as Chief of Defence People at the Ministry of Defence. He was previously Director General Personnel and Military Secretary and served in a range of command and staff roles in Germany, Northern Ireland and the Balkans. He was Deputy Commander of 1st (United Kingdom) Armoured Division during the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Director SSAFA Client Services
Liz is responsible for developing and nurturing niche support services for the Armed Forces and veterans’ community. These services include an Ofsted-regulated adoption service; support for military families with children with complex additional needs and disabilities; an early intervention scheme supporting veterans in Glasgow; a helpline for the Armed Forces community; and a diverse housing portfolio including two refuges for women and children, a CQC-regulated care home and specialist housing for families.
Director of Volunteer Operations
As Director of Volunteer Operations at SSAFA, Julie’s role oversees the volunteer network of some 92 branches and 68 in-service committees across the UK and overseas, our specialist services such as mentoring, wounded injured and sick service personnel leaving the services and our work with veterans in the criminal justice system. Julie is a former chief executive of the Army Families Federation and the wife of a serving member of the British Army.
