Legacies -The Gift of a Lifetime

With your help, we can ensure that each and every member of our Armed Forces receives the support they so richly deserve, whenever and wherever they need it. Your legacy means that SSAFA will be able to continue providing a lifetime of support to those who serve, those who used to serve and the families of both.

£500 could enable one SSAFA caseworker to visit and assist up to 15 ex servicemen and women who need our support.

£2,500 could provide accommodation for two months for a mother and her two children at one of SSAFA’s Stepping Stone Homes.

£7,000 could help give a child a “forever family.” SSAFA’s Adoption Agency helps match children with prospective parents serving in our Forces.

£200,000 could cover the training cost for a year for all SSAFA volunteers – our trained volunteers are the lifeblood of our work, helping us reach over 50,000 people every year.

How to leave a legacy to SSAFA Forces Help

There are several different types of gift that you can leave in your Will:

  • A specific sum of money (a pecuniary legacy)
  • A specific item, such as jewellery, medals or your car (a specific legacy)
  • The whole, or a share of, the remainder of your Estate after all other bequests and costs have been paid (a residuary legacy)

If you would like to leave a legacy for the benefit of your local Branch or Division, please contact our Legacy Officer for the correct wording to include in your Will. 

We recommend consulting your Solicitor when writing your Will, if you have already made your Will, you can make an additional gift using our codicil form.

Remember that any gift to the Association is tax exempt, and could help alleviate your overall tax burden.
